This is my favorite blog on the internet and that is saying something because I read a lot of blogs. A couple from Minnesota is biking around the world, and they are meticulous in journaling everyday so we can go along on their adventure.
A great article with Mad Men’s Joanie, er, Christina Hendricks. Gorgeously styled photos. Love this girl - I can’t wait for Mad Men to come back July 25!

So many people are helping us out for our wedding and I am constantly overwhelmed by the wonderfulness and abundance of love we are blessed with.
My favorite aunt is our celebrant AND she’s purchasing the champagne as a gift.
Sister is planning huge ass central Illinois bridal shower AND a bachelorette.
Talented theatre friend is using her CAD software to help us figure out how we’re going to fit 200 people sitting down for dinner in our venue.
Co-worker designed the Save the Dates.
Cousin is designing the invitations and other paper goods.
Other cousin wants to work out a super cheap/free way to make our bouquets and boutonnierres through the floral shop where she works.
The Dads are making the ceremony decorations.
The Moms are just waiting to help in any way possible. They hunger for more projects than I can give them.
We have numerous friends playing the piano or singing during the ceremony.
I have no idea how we’ll say thank you to all these people. I feel like I want our program to be theatre-style, with bios for everybody involved but of course we can’t do that. So I’ll just have to figure something else out…
Oh god Lobster. I’ll eat you dipped in drawn butter, on a roll, any which way dear god YES.
This blog is very funny. Subtle. Funny.
There is a decent chance that I might be entering a graduate school program Fall of 2011. Here’s the conundrum:
What to study?
My argument has always been that if you don’t know what you want to study, you shouldn’t be going to graduate school. Grad school is for people who want to learn more about one specific slice of academia. I still agree with myself, but now I find the tyranny of choice overwhelming.
Do I stay in non-profit theatre marketing and get an Artistic Administration M.A.? Do I get more targeted and specifically do a Theatre Management master’s, or do I open up and go for a broader Public Policy or Nonprofit Management degree? Or do I take an even bigger step back and go for an MBA?
The differences between these choices are numerous, but when you’re at the beginning of the road like I am it kinda boils down to this.
I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE THE F’ING GMAT.
The GRE will be bad enough, but the GMAT? The GMAT speaks a language that, to me, might as well be Alien language. I’m ashamed that I’m scared of a standardized test, but most MBA programs really evaluate you by your GMAT score, unlike some other programs that require the GRE and are willing to overlook a not-so-good score if you make up for it in work experience, writing capabilities, etc. Studying for either test is going to be expensive - those books and practice tests don’t come easy.
Or, when ADM starts his doctoral program instead of me starting a master’s program we could just start having babies right away and I could revisit this issue down the line. You think I’m kidding.
My office plant is actually growing!
